May 19th Basel Healthcare Dialogues Event

On Wednesday, 19^th May, from 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm CET (Switzerland Time) 7:00 to 7:50 p.m. (China/HK/SG Time), Basel HCD welcomes Bill Burns, Former CEO of Roche Pharma. Bill will give a talk entitled "Will Innovative Biotech Still Be Pharma's 2021 Growth Engine? How can pharma manage this well?”. This session will be moderated by Paul Simms, Chief Executive at Impatient Health

We will discuss topics including:

• What will the next generation of biotech companies look like?
• Will there be a new wave of cancer targets? What are some of the novel approaches in cell and cancer therapies?
• Can cutting edge technologies change the shape of biopharma manufacturing and improve access to specialized medicines in the coming decade or will high price still remain an issue limiting patient access?

Bill Burns Former CEO, Roche Pharma Bill has vast experience in the development and commercialization of drugs, particularly in oncology, and extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical industry operations. He held various executive positions at Roche for 28 years, culminating in his nomination to the position of CEO of Roche Pharmaceuticals and board seats at Roche, Genentech and Chugai Pharmaceuticals. In addition to his multiple board positions, Mr. Burns is also a trustee and governor of the Wellcome Trust Ltd. and a trustee of the Institute of Cancer Research, London. He is a member of the Novo Holdings Advisory Group and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Center for Integrated Oncology of the University of Cologne/Bonn. Mr. Burns holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow
