With the theme of “Focusing on Double Demonstration and Sharing the Benefits of Integration,” the inauguration ceremony for the Jiashan International Innovation Center was held at the Hongqiao World Center on October 15. The Shanghai branch of Jiashan’s sci-tech innovation center will open a window to cooperation and exchanges between global talents.
Relevant leaders of the Jiaxing and Jiashan governments, the Zhejiang Foreign Experts Bureau, the Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District Administration Committee, the National Intelligent Sensor Innovation Center, the Zhejiang Digital Economy Society, and the Tongji University Alumni Association, as well as more than 180 experts and scholars, industry leaders and media representatives from well-known research institutions and enterprises, such as Shenzhen Securities Information Co Ltd, Fudan University Biotechnology Center and HealthcareDrinks, came together to witness the inauguration of the Jiashan International Innovation Center (Shanghai).
Xu Mingyang, deputy secretary of the Jiashan County Party Committee and head of the suburban district, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that Jiashan has been able to attract high-quality entrepreneurship projects and talents from home and abroad by building the four high-level centers, namely the Shanghai R&D center for Jiashan high-quality enterprises, the incubation center for high-tech projects in Shanghai, the agglomeration center for high-end talents from home and abroad, and the demonstration center for efficient innovation and entrepreneurship services. He hoped that the innovation center will integrate all kinds of innovative resources, provide the most comprehensive facilitation services and policy guarantees for high-quality projects and high-end talents, and offer new momentum to Jiashan’s industrial development.
Zhou Jinhong, deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, said: “Jiashan is Zhejiang Province’s ‘bridgehead’ to connect with Shanghai, and the province’s forerunner for realizing the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. The inauguration of the innovation center is not just a strategic requirement to seize the opportunity of the Yangtze River Delta’s integrated development, but also the specific practice to create a new highland of innovative economy.”
Zhou hoped that Jiashan, through the innovation center platform, will gather more talent and innovation resources to make a greater contribution to the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Contracts between domestic and foreign cooperation platforms for high-quality projects were also signed at the inauguration ceremony, including the Center for Biotechnology at Fudan University, the Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Research Institute, SIME Medical, EditorAI, EyeStrobe, Bosheng Optoelectronics and UVMIC Technology. George Fitzgerald Smoot, the winner of the Nobel Prize for Physics, gave a keynote speech at the end of the ceremony.
The signing of contracts between the innovation center and high-quality projects mark the joint efforts by all parties to promote the high-quality development of Jiashan under the guidance of the national strategy for the Yangtze River Delta integration. In the near future, more high-quality projects will be unveiled amid increased cooperation. The Jiashan International Innovation Center (Shanghai) will be operated by Zhejiang Greenroot Sci-Tech Industry Development Co Ltd.
